My name’s Sarah, aka Sar Lou which is my stage name for my main day to day working life as a professional musician, touring the country (and sometimes further afield) playing bass guitar. I love my job and the fact it lets me get to see and experience new things while out on the road.
Ever since I was a child I’ve loved and felt completely at home in the outdoors. I started Sar Lou Adventures as a little blog/vlog and motivation to get outdoors and scratch the never ending wanderlust/travel bug itch that was instilled in me from childhood by my parents (who rarely stayed in one location very long!)
After being born in Wales, I was then raised in Florida, USA before coming back to the UK as a teenager and settling back here for a few years before spending a year out living in Portugal. Before I’d even hit adulthood; I’d lived in at least 25 homes, been to numerous cities, countries, climates and continents so it’s no surprise that I carried that love of travel, adventure and exploring into my adult life. My parents never settled, as soon as we’d found a home base in one place, we’d be off to another. Mum especially was always out walking in the outdoors, usually with our dogs, and like her I’ve now found that I’m at home in nature and exploring new places. It fills my heart, recharges my batteries and is grounding for me.
That’s where this account comes in!
I turned 40 in June 2025, with two adult children. Now my daughters are grown and building their own lives, it’s time to recapture that huge part of my heart and soul.
